Bugle Head Wood Screws
Product Overview
This product is a 410 martensitic stainless steel extended self-tapping screw, available in specifications 4.2×65 and 4.2×75, with a pickled and passivated bright finish. Featuring a Phillips bugle countersunk head and a coarse thread half-thread configuration, it combines the aesthetic flush-mounting advantage of drywall screws with the strong joining capability of wood screws. Through heat treatment for enhanced hardness, it offers superior rust resistance and driving penetration compared to ordinary carbon steel drywall screws, making it specifically designed for extended fastening of thick panels and double-layer joists.
Product Applications
Home renovation projects: Extended fastening of double-layer wooden joists for suspended ceilings, thickened partition wall joists, and plasterboard substrates.
Full-house woodworking: Splicing thick panels made of solid wood, multi-layer plywood, ecological boards, and OSB (oriented strand board), as well as cabinet framework assembly.
Light outdoor woodworking: Installation of preservative-treated wood for decks, garden wooden fences, and other dry-environment outdoor timber applications.
Various thick composite panels and thickened wood veneer substrate fastening.
Note: Not recommended for coastal high-salt-spray environments or long-term water immersion with strong corrosive conditions.
Product Features
410 stainless steel material: Achieves high hardness after quenching; the sharp point enables driving into solid wood and thin joists without pre-drilling. The magnetic property accommodates electric driver bits, and the bright finish with no electroplated coating resists rust while preventing coating flaking that could stain panels.
Bugle Phillips countersunk head: The PH2 cross-recess resists cam-out; the countersunk head embeds completely into the panel surface, securing plasterboard without tearing the paper facing, leaving a smooth finish that requires no additional putty filling.
Coarse thread half-thread design: Coarse threads provide strong holding power, pull-out resistance, and anti-loosening performance; the upper unthreaded shank ensures that double-layer panels are pulled together tightly without creating gaps.
Practical extended lengths: 65/75mm lengths accommodate material combinations of 40–65mm thickness, solving issues of insufficient anchorage and structural loosening often found with shorter screws.
